Get answers to common questions about Sisterloc Retie.
Yes. A consultation is required to evaluate your Sisterloc condition, discuss desired tension and maintenance, and estimate time and pricing. This ensures we use the proper retightening technique and create a tailored plan for healthy loc upkeep.
Frequency depends on growth rate and desired look; most clients return every 4–8 weeks. During consultation we recommend a schedule balancing neatness with hair health to avoid excessive tension and maintain strong, well-formed Sisterlocs.
Appointment length varies with loc count, thickness, and required repair; most reties take between 1.5 and 3 hours. Your consultation provides a precise estimate based on hair condition, style complexity, and any necessary corrective work.
Properly performed reties are gentle; our stylists control tension and use safe techniques to minimize discomfort and prevent breakage. If we identify weak spots, we'll adjust the method or recommend treatments to strengthen hair before future retightening.
We ask clients to come with clean, dry locs when possible. Washing 24–48 hours prior is acceptable; avoid heavy products. After a retie wait at least 48 hours before washing to allow knots to settle, unless otherwise advised.
Yes, we welcome new Sisterloc clients but require an initial consultation to assess your locs and history. Bookings are by appointment; consultations determine suitability, timing, pricing, and any preparatory steps for a safe, successful retightening session.
